Caporn Piling proudly delivered expert piling solutions for the Flinders Link Rail Project, a critical infrastructure upgrade connecting Flinders Medical Centre and Flinders University to Adelaide's metropolitan rail network.

Project Overview

The project extended the Tonsley rail line by 650 meters, featuring the construction of a 520-meter elevated concrete viaduct. This structure spans key intersections, including Sturt Road, Laffers Triangle, and Main South Road, and is supported by nine structural piers, ensuring reliable and efficient rail connectivity.

Piling Scope

Caporn Piling’s work included:

• Installation of:

  • 58 CFA piles (1050mm diameter, up to 25m deep).

  • 8 CFA piles (900mm diameter, 11m deep).

  • 4 CFA piles (600mm diameter, 5m deep).

• 100% Pile Integrity Testing to ensure structural quality and performance.

• 9 PDA Tests for dynamic load assessment.

Equipment Utilized

• Bauer BG28 CFA Rig for precision piling.

• 100T Crawler Crane for heavy lifting requirements.

• Track-Mounted Concrete Pump for seamless concrete delivery.
