Caporn Piling was proud to deliver the foundation works for the University of the Sunshine Coast’s (USC) Foundation Building, the centerpiece of USC’s new Moreton Bay campus. Located at the historic Old Petrie Mill site, this state-of-the-art facility spans 16,000 square meters and serves as USC’s principal research and learning hub in the region.

Project Scope

Caporn Piling’s contribution included:

  • Installation of:

    • 99 CFA piles (450mm diameter, 20m deep).

    • 96 CFA piles (600mm diameter, 20m deep).

    • 67 CFA piles (750mm diameter, 30m deep).

  • Soilmec SR60 CFA Rig

  • Bauer BG28 CFA Rig

  • 100T Crawler Crane

  • Track-Mounted Concrete Pump

The Foundation Building delivers over 15,000m² of teaching, research, and administrative spaces.

Completed in February 2020, the project establishes USC as the principal tertiary education provider north of Brisbane, addressing the growing demand for education in South East Queensland.
